  • Solid bamboo, not particleboard

Real material all the way through. No MDF core, no printed woodgrain vinyl wrapped over dust.

  • Handles damp rooms

Bathrooms and laundry rooms are where cheap furniture swells and bubbles. Bamboo copes with humidity far better.

  • Ships from the US

Tracking on every order. Flat-packed, so it fits through a normal doorway.

  • Arrived damaged? Tell us

Furniture takes a beating in transit. If yours shows up marked or a part is missing, get in touch.

Most furniture this size is glued dust

Particleboard and MDF are wood fibre pressed together with adhesive, then wrapped in a vinyl film printed to look like grain. It photographs beautifully. It is also why the shelf bows in the middle after a year, why the screw hole strips the second time you move house, and why a chipped corner reveals something the colour of porridge.

And it hates water. One damp bathroom or a leaking laundry basket and the edges swell, the film lifts, and it never goes back.

This is solid bamboo. Bamboo is a grass, not a timber, and the poles are cut, flattened and laminated into a board that is dense and hard the whole way through. A chip looks like bamboo, because it is bamboo. It takes a screw properly and holds it.

What you are actually paying for

Two pieces can look identical in a product photo and be nothing alike once you own them. The difference is what is under the surface, and it shows up the first time something gets wet or gets moved.

Stands up to bathroom and laundry humidity

Made from a plant that regrows in years, not decades

Made from what grows back

Zaremora started with a simple question: what are the things you use every day actually made of? With furniture the honest answer is usually glue and sawdust, dressed up with a printed film.

Bamboo is different in a way that is easy to check. It is a grass, so a cut pole regrows from the same root system and reaches full height in a few years rather than the decades a hardwood needs. It is also genuinely hard — dense enough to take a screw and hold a shelf without bowing.

We publish what things are made of, including the parts that are not plant-based. Hardware is steel. Liners and mats are fabric. We would rather list that than let a word like "natural" cover the whole object.

Questions

Do I have to assemble it?

Yes. It ships flat-packed, which is the only way a piece this size gets through a doorway without costing a fortune to freight. Hardware and instructions are in the box, and it goes together with the tools most people already own. Check the description for the part count on this particular piece.

Will it warp in a bathroom or laundry room?

This is where bamboo earns its place. MDF and particleboard soak up moisture at the cut edges, swell, and lift the vinyl film off the surface — which is why so much bathroom furniture looks tired within a year. Bamboo is far more stable in humidity. Wipe up standing water rather than letting it sit, and it holds up.

Is it real bamboo or just a bamboo-look finish?

Real, right through. The poles are cut into strips and laminated into a solid board, so the grain you see on the surface is the same material in the middle. Chip a corner and it still looks like bamboo. A vinyl-wrapped piece gives itself away the moment it is damaged.

How do I clean it?

A damp cloth and a mild soap. Dry it afterwards rather than leaving it wet. Skip bleach, ammonia and abrasive scourers — they strip the finish, and once that is gone the surface takes on moisture much more readily.

Will it fit where I want to put it?

Measure the space before you order, including the doorway it has to come through and any radiator or skirting board in the way. Full dimensions for this piece are in the description. Furniture returns are a nuisance for everyone, and a tape measure takes a minute.

How much weight will it hold?

Where a weight rating exists for a piece, it is in the description. Bamboo is dense and handles load well for its thickness, but a shelf is only as strong as how it is assembled — tighten everything fully, and put the heavy things on the lower tiers.

Will the colour match the photo?

Close, not identical. Bamboo is a natural material, so grain and tone vary from board to board, and screens render colour differently besides. If you are matching an existing piece, expect a family resemblance rather than an exact match.

What if it arrives damaged or a part is missing?

Get in touch and we will sort it out. Flat-pack furniture gets handled hard in transit and it does happen. Photograph the damage and the packaging before you get too far into assembly — it makes the whole thing quicker.
